Exposure of L3-5 Disc Space for Lumbar Fusion and Subsequent Injury of the Inferior Vena Cava - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit illustrates the attempted exposure of the Lumbar vertebrae. It depicts the periumbilical low midline incision and retraction of the abdominal contents. A tear is encountered at the posterior aspect of the inferior vena cava at level L4-5. The tear is shown being repaired with sutures.
